ZhongZhaozhan, Zhao Jubao, Mei Xurong
1998, 6(3): 25-29.
Abstract(856) PDF(822)
Abstract:
According to the field information from the place located in Shouyang County,Shanxi Province,a new kind of field mulch-Grassy Fibre Film Mulch(GFFM)on spring corn in dryland and its effects on soil pysieal and chemical features, soil temperature, soil water condition and the growth of spring corn are studied. The results indicate that the GFFM can improve soil structure, harmonize relations among soil temperature, soil water condition and crop deve1opment,decrease soil evaporation, and raise crop water utilizationefficiency.Under GFFM condition, the amounts of soil water storage and supply are increasedby 14.9mm and 14.6mm respectively, crop water consumption is decreased by 9.2% ,the coefficientof crop water consumption decreased by 32.3% and the efficiency of soil water utilization raised by 47.5% compared with the contro1.The water-saving and yield-raising efficiency of GFFM is obvious,so the GFFM is one of the effective ways to solve the problem such as drought and barren land in the dry farming areas in Northern China.

The experimental results show that dryland millet with mulch at the fallow stage can make the spring rainfall used in Autumn. With the method, the moisture content of soil is effectively increased, the rate of seedling emergence of millet raised, the metabolism improved, and the yield increased by 28.2%.The millet physiological changes are discussed, which provided scientific basis for the millet cultivation in dryland.
A preliminary study on the regulated deficit irrigation system of winter wheat
Zhang Xiying, You Maozheng, Wang Xinyuan
1998, 6(3): 33-36.
Abstract(893) PDF(878)
Abstract:
Field results at Luancheng Agro-ecosystem Station,CAS show that the most sensitive stage to water stress for winter wheat falls on jointing ,then the following are booting and heading to flowering stages, while too much water supply during turning green to lifting will reduce winter wheat yield. The critical levels of soil water content for winter wheat are no less than 65% of field capacity for 0~50cm soil layer during jointing stage,60% for 0~80cm during booting to heading and 60% for 0~OOcm during heading to initial milky stage,50% for 0~lOOcm during milky stage, respectively. At those stages, when soil water content is below the critical level, yield will be greatly reduced.Based on the results, regulated deficit irrigation system is established for winter wheat.

1998, 6(3): 39-42.
Abstract(2036) PDF(1397)
Abstract:
The effects of organic manure,tstraw-paper-pulping waste using ammonium sulphite(SWUA)and chemical fertilizer on the soil structure of sandy Loamy paddy are studied. The resu]ts show that the soil porosity.water-stable aggregate and water-holding ability of organic manure treatments are significantly higher than those of other treatments among organic manure treatments, plant residue is the most favourable to improve soil structure, and the diameter of pore in which water can most actively move is O.O5~O.1Omm among capillary. There is a significant linear relationship between the porosity 0.O5~0.10mm in diameter and the water-holding capacity of soil.

Bao Weikai
1998, 6(3): 50-54.
Abstract(1007) PDF(1034)
Abstract:
Characters of energy input and output for three typical fruit tree-graln crop intercropping ecosystems in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River are studied. The resuits show that the eficiency of the supplementary energy input is only 1.15~1.52 because of the irrational structure of the energy input. The light use eficiency for the three systems are 0.661%~1.205%.which is higher than single planting.Optimal management such as optimizing the components and structures of the system.improving the supplemental energy input and level, returning non-edible products and utilizing food chain cyclically should be carried out.
